There are three different types of subpoenas that are issued. Below you will find an explanation and example of each type.
Grand Jury:
This subpoena is used to order an individual to appear before the Wood County Grand Jury. The person named in the subpoena must appear at the date and time identified in the subpoena. Please contact the prosecuting attorney named in the subpoena if you have questions about the subpoena or your testimony.
Prosecutor:
This subpoena is typically used to order the production of documents or things from an individual, agency or company. If the subpoena has language that states that appearance is not necessary, then only the items ordered need be provided. If that language is not on the subpoena, appearance is necessary. Please call either the prosecutor's office or the individual to whom any information must be sent with questions.
Witness:
This subpoena is used to order an individual to appear for a trial or a hearing. The person named in the subpoena must appear at the date and time identified in the subpoena. Please contact the prosecuting attorney named in the subpoena upon receipt.
